If you are anything like the Brandicoot team, you will be a big fan of the Apple Mac. If you are an owner of a Mac you will know that when you purchased your treasured device there is no manual in the box! Sure you can find it on the Apple website, but our guess is that most of you haven’t bothered looking for it.
So the team at Brandicoot are about to make your life a little easier and a lot more fun by sharing some awesome tricks that not everyone knows…
Ctrl + Cmd + Spacebar brings up the full emoji keyboard.
Cmd + ~ allows you to quickly switch through windows on the current application you’re on.
Shift + Option will give you the ability to more finely adjust the volume.
Holding down Shift when changing the volume will mute the volume clicker.
Cmd + L will highlight the URL bar in your browser.
Cmd + Shift + 3 will take a screenshot.
Cmd + Shift + 4 + Spacebar will let you take a screenshot of a specific window.
Using ‘Preview’ you can digitally sign documents. Here’s a tutorial.
Cmd + Option + Shift + V will give you the ability to paste text with formatting.
Option + Right-Click on some things will bring up an extra contextual menu.
Option + hitting on any of the keys above the numbers such as brightness or volume will bring up settings for that function.
Cmd + Spacebar will give you quick access to spotlight.
OS X has a built in dictionary. Simply highlight a word, right click then hit ‘Look Up’. Trackpad users can do it by tapping on a word with three fingers.
Highlight multiple items then hit the Spacebar and it’ll show them in Quick Look.
Cmd + H will quickly hide the windows for the current app you’re on.
Alt + backspace deletes whole words instead of deleting single letters.
Holding down Shift while minimising a window will minimise it in slow motion.
