At Brandicoot, we believe a great website should do more than simply provide information. It should tell a story.
That was the inspiration behind our recent website project for Western Australian author Angelika Bailey.
Angelika’s writing is shaped by a life of adventure, resilience and connection to the Australian landscape. From experiences in the outback to quieter moments spent observing nature, her stories explore themes of belonging, migration and the journeys that shape us.
Her website needed to reflect that.
Creating a Personal Digital Home
We worked with Angelika to create a website that feels personal, warm and connected to her story.
The new website provides a central place for visitors to learn more about Angelika, explore her books and discover the experiences that have influenced her writing.
The design combines a clean, contemporary layout with imagery inspired by the Australian landscape, creating a digital experience that allows Angelika’s personality and storytelling to take centre stage.
Showcasing a Life of Adventure
A key focus of the website is Angelika’s memoir, Whatever Happened to That Little Foreign Girl?
The book tells a story of adventure under the Southern Cross, exploring migration, outback life, resilience and belonging.
The website gives readers an opportunity to discover the story behind the book while also providing a platform for Angelika’s future writing projects.
Designed for the Next Chapter
A website should be able to grow alongside the person or business behind it.
Angelika is continuing to develop new stories, including nature-based children’s tales exploring coexistence, belonging and the wonders of the natural world.
The website has been designed to provide a flexible foundation for these future projects, allowing new books, stories and content to be added as Angelika’s writing journey continues.
A Website Built Around Storytelling
This project was about more than creating an online presence.
It was about creating a space that reflects a lifetime of experiences and provides a platform for those stories to be shared with others.
We are proud to have helped Angelika Bailey create a digital home for her writing and look forward to seeing where her next chapter takes her.
